“Covid-19 acted as an impetus to get e-commerce moving with entrepreneurs finding innovative ways to conduct their business online. There has been an uptick in e-commerce activity particularly as it relates to the local private sector. More online services are now offered and those with an online presence have intensified their marketing and advertising.”

This was the announcement by the Trade and Industry Minister Paula Gopee-Scoon, at the International Trade Centre’s (ICT) virtual Good Trade Summit on Wednesday 7th October 2020.

This surely is an exciting time for the world of technology and digital commerce. Businesses are now seeing the importance of conducting transactions online and having a web presence. With lockdowns and restrictions being commonplace in this Covid-19 era, a sure way to maintain business continuity is by adopting e-commerce.
